Sweet Gypsy Cocktail

gypsy cocktails

We’re off to the islands in just a few days and I’m counting down the hours. I can’t wait to get my toes in the sand, and enjoy the warm sun and salty breezes. Even though we live in the sunshine state, there’s always a prettier paradise somewhere close by. You know just like the grass is always greener? Well here the water is always bluer just right over there, so we absolutely love to explore new beaches in the state and in the islands of the Caribbean. Next week we’ll be going to four new islands we’ve never been to and I can’t wait!

There’s a different type of lifestyle at the beach that my family and I love. It’s a much slower, laid back go-with-the-flow type mentality I like to try and keep with me even when we’re back home. At the beach, everyone is your friend, everyday is a party and there’s always good music playing. You haven’t got a care and there’s always a sweet tropical drink in your hand made with the best quality rum.

I’ve tried lots of different rums, and my new favorite is Blue Chair Bay. It’s a new rum that is inspired by the island lifestyle of multi-platinum singer-songwriter Kenny Chesney. But he didn’t just endorse this rum, he’s poured his heart and soul into every step of the creation of this rum, from beach to bottle, and it shows.

Kenny Chesney wanted a rum that was worthy of sharing with his own friends, and with the development of Blue Chair Bay, he did exactly that. By working with one of the world’s great master blenders, Mike Booth, he was able to create a blend of true beach aged rum. This rum is even created at the Caribbean’s last true beachside distillery, right on the water!

Blue Chair Bay is available in four flavors: White, Coconut, Coconut Spiced and Banana. The White Rum is crystal clear, balanced, with gentle spice notes, and is equally at home on the rocks or in a classic cocktail like a mojito. The coconut is robust yet easy with a just-cracked-open-coconut character (all natural) and an incredibly smooth mouthfeel. The Coconut Spiced Rum is the new way to spice, where cinnamon, nutmeg and clove meet beach-aged rum and natural coconut for a whole new way to experience the islands.

The banana rum, featured in my Sweet Gypsy, tastes like they took your Grandmother’s prize banana pudding and infused it into the highest quality rum. It’s just that good. In this cocktail, I’ve paired Blue Chair Bay Banana Rum with Passion Fruit Liqueur, which makes a the most incredible flavor combination. I finished this cocktail by adding pineapple juice and a little maraschino cherry juice.  It’s a fun, sweet, girly drink that you’ll love to share with friends.
